Position: Database Administrator (SQL, Oracle, DB2) Position type: Junior to mid level Pay rate: DOE Duration: 5+ months Location: Westlake Data Center, Westlake, TX Preference: Local to Dallas region Start date: ASAP Summary: Coordinate changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database. Education/Experience: Associates degree in computer programming or a relevant field required. Bachelor degree preferred. Up to 2 years experience required. Skills and Competencies: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time. Basic knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software. Basic knowledge of computer software, such as SQL, Visual Basic, Oracle, etc. Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications. Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes. Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Information: Oracle administration Creating databases, system refreshes Must be very familiar with Oracle 4. Oracle - version 8 to 11 Position is more production support; might have opportunity to support new version of oracle. Might go full time for the right candidate candidates will need to be comfortable with on-call requirement – on-call rotation every other week.
