In this position candidates will analyze and evaluate current and proposed data processing solutions to provide improved and efficient productivity for the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of applications in his/her assigned area of responsibility. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Specific Experience: 2-3 years of position experience Specific Technology: Strong CICS, Cobol, VSAM, MVS, and understanding of SQL Server (PHP, .NET Visual Studio, VB, AJAX, etc.) Soft Skills: Excellent Oral Communication Good Written Communication (system documentation/user manuals) Good Organizational Skills Ability to lead a project Position Responsibilities: Design, develop and support programs considered as more complex components of the application in area of responsibility. Assist the Applications Specialist, as required in preparing and presenting system and program design technical reviews and/or walk-thrus Participate in the implementation of computer systems. Assist with training and education as needed for less senior member of the application teams. Provide 24 x 7 on-call support for application failures and application support. Report the progress of assigned projects to manager and fulfil the departmental administrative reporting requirements Ensure that assigned projects are thoroughly tested and documented, pass a quality assurance review and are accepted by the requestor prior to implementation. Successfully adhere to department standards Mentor less senior members of the application teams. Complete projects within the time schedule and efficiently handle multiple assignments. Demonstrate responsibility for production applications. Perform other duties as requested by manager. Ability to communicate with end users regarding application problem resolution and/or system development.
