Functions: * Be responsible for statistical analysis of large datasets, statistical / predictive modeling with multiple variables, and performance monitoring in support of fraud risk products * Primarily use MapReduce, Hadoop DFS, Python, UNIX SAS Grid, Java, and MS Office software Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform statistical analyses of payment card data to derive answers to business questions and aid in decision making * Perform various tasks including writing and maintaining codes in Python that perform desired analytics to support commercialized fraud risk product * Optimize fraud strategies per client's requests * Conduct research to achieve product enhancement and optimization objectives * Regular monitoring of product metrics for management and clients * Build, test, and validate statistical models within the Hadoop environment * Build and test utilities that streamline processes on the Hadoop environment Education/Experience: * A Graduate Degree in a Quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Management Sciences, Economics, Engineering, or Operations Research * Five years of experience in statistical modeling and data mining techniques including neural networks, regression trees, and rule induction involving multiple variables and large datasets * At least one year of experience in performing statistical analyses using MapReduce and Hadoop Distributed File Systems, preferably in combination with Python * At least one year of statistical analysis experience using UNIX SAS * Proficiency in creating reports, charts, documents, and other tasks using Microsoft Office software Skills: * Record of excellence in timely delivery of projects and effective problem solving (required) * Must have attention to details and have business oriented thinking (required) * Must be able to communicate effectively with technical development teams and Business Managers (required) * Must be able to communicate results of statistical analyses in technical and non-technical terms (required) * Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills (required) * Proven ability to work independently on multiple tasks in a dynamic environment (required) * In-depth knowledge of data mining, machine learning, and statistical modeling algorithms (required) * Ability to systematically generate decision rules with advanced statistical tools (required) * Hands-on SAS experience in the UNIX / Linux environment (required) * Must be familiar with UNIX / Linux Shell scripts (required) * Must be able to use and manipulate Hadoop DFS files (required) * Statistical analysis via MapReduce using programming languages preferably with Python - one year of experience (required) * Knowledge of payment card procedures and predictive modeling (required) * Familiarity with Java (required)
