Please note this is a 8 month contract position.   Skills: Microbiology experience, GMP Production experience, Testing Raw Materials Shift: Thursday-Sun, Need to Work Flexible Hours Candidate needs 5-7 Microbiology exp at least in QA lab with personal care / pharma industry. Under routine supervision, performs a variety of microbiological tests of raw materials, in-process materials and finished products to assess conformance to applicable standards.  Also conduct testing for purified water system and Environmental monitoring, Ability to review and understand microbiological test data. Ability to create and write scientific protocols and qualifications. Ability to summary study data in a final report. Job Duties: Must be qualified to perform multiple microbiological tests. Perform microbiological testing including sample collection, plating of samples, data trending and analysis using current USP based methodology. Routinely tests raw materials and finished products for conformity to specification using standard operating procedures. Conduct swab surface sample collection and testing to support environmental monitoring of GMP production areas. Conduct media growth promotion to support media quality control. Assures that equipment used for testing is calibrated and performing properly. Evaluates and interprets results from selective agar plates and from other validated diagnostic systems. Supplements the information from the diagnostic systems with microscopic           examination. Determines the acceptability of a product or raw material based on test data and test specifications. Confers with management on various problems and works in conjunction to develop or improve methodology. Samples and tests potable, Generation and USP Purified Water. Logs all results in logbooks or computer databases using proper documentation.  Maintains records in accordance with cGMP. Trains and assists activities of other personnel as required by laboratory management Reviews test results. Acquires, maintains and applies current professional knowledge and skills appropriate to the job. Communicates problems and potential problems to Management in a timely manner. Performs special projects as required Embraces and demonstrates the Company’s values on an ongoing basis. Performs other duties as assigned and directed.  Initiates and completes microbiology laboratory investigations in a timely manner.  Experience: Experience with testing of raw materials, components, bulk, in-process, and finished product testing in the Microbiology Laboratory.  Knowledge of US regulations of the Personal Care and Pharmaceutical Industry.  For consideration please include Job # 9860.
