***Experis has a contract Sr Unix System Administrator opportunity for a large local telecommunications client*** PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES: - Evaluates, installs, maintains, and supports Unix/Linux operating systems and/or specialized system software. - Prepares written documentation to accompany all systems, programs and program changes; provides technical guidance and direction to management, programmers, and operators regarding operating systems. - Evaluates hardware requirements and tunes hardware configurations. - Performs other duties as assigned. IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE: - College degree in a Technical or related field and 3-5 years professional level experience with 0-1 year supervisory experience for roles with supervision OR 7+ years professional level related Technical experience with 1+ year supervisory experience for roles with supervision. - The candidates must have experience with Solaris, HP-UX, Suse, and Redhat. - Expertise with Symantec's Veritas volume manager and Cluster server software is required. - Selected person will join our on-call team, so must be willing to work weekends and evenings as needed. - Experience with RHEL XEN / KVM virtualization. - Experience with RHEL Clustering.
