The iSeries Administrator will manage all aspects of the iSeries (AS400) systems at all locations to ensure high availability and the highest levels of performance. The Administrator will have broad responsibilities for maintaining and supporting this platform, including hardware set up and configuration. This position is also responsible for the development of management level performance reports, capacity planning and utilization forecasting to provide recommendations for additional resources Primary Responsibilities: Manage system resource utilization and conduct system audits. Manage daily, weekly, and Monthly processes generating performance reports Assist with management of different tools including Robot (Console, alert, network) support, upgrades. Troubleshooting of jobs, processes and system issues. Manage the Performance of multiple system partitions. Control the work flow on the systems through job queues, subsystems and output queues. Conduct Role Swaps as part of Disaster Recovery efforts System Software tools, O/S updates (PTF) and Hardware upgrades Must Have: 5+ years of System Management working in iSeries or AS400 environments Manufacturing and or Shop Floor Systems experience 5+ years of experience working hands-on with all aspects of the iSeries system management (.i.e. hardware, tuning, performance, resource utilization) 5+ years of experience performing system tuning, performance data gathering, capacity management, conducting analysis and writing system related requirements HS diploma/GED with 5+ years of equivalent experience or a Bachelor's Degree required Nice to Have: Experience working with Solarsoft CMS / iVP Experience with wrkqry and custom library reports in IBM AS400 environment Experience with Labels in automotive manufacturing or other manufacturing Experience with Motorola Hand Scanners Experience with Zebra and Intermec Label Printers Knowledge of Windows XP / Windows 7 Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, Access Microsoft SQL Server experience Qualified candidates please send a word copy of your resume to recruiter@select-resources.com
