IT Area Manager - 1651
Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an IT Area Manager on a contract to hire opportunity with a leading company in Baltimore, MD. In this position candidates will be responsible for managing the achievement of IT support initiatives and the accomplishment of IT objectives within the operations. The Area Manager serves as the primary technology expert for hardware installations, software installations, understands business practices, documents IT supporting infrastructure, and ensures that information technology meets the requirements of end users. Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Information Technology Director, the Area Manager: Works closely with the IT Director to ensure IT compliance. Learns and understands business processes and how technology can best ensure the success of business users. Investigates operations-related problems/inquiries and§ recommends, facilitates and coordinates solutions. Informs team members about ongoing discussions with business and on any new findings including best practices. When required, mediates conflicts between IT and the business. Represents and champions initiatives as it impacts IT. Manages technical staff and/or vendors. Manages the implementation and support of information systems. Works with other IT groups within the organization. Participates in the development of IT budgets. Review and evaluate vendors to ensure compliance with established quality standards, performance and requirements. Responsible for managing project costs and working within budget constraints. Develop, track, monitor and execute against metrics and performance management ratings. Assist in the development of strategic plans for IT. Supervises and directs support for office automation and system implementations including implementing standard desktop computing systems and planning for future desktop hardware and software. Specific qualifications include: Three years progressive information technology§ experience, supporting medium- to large-size projects One year supervisory experience required Demonstrated technology savvy with the proven ability to align IT priorities with business objectives Clear and effective written documentation Proven experience with IT tools: Ticket tracking systems Infrastructure monitoring systems Ability to drive IT standardization and§ consistency techniques. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and competencies listed above in organization of comparable size and complexity. Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or Information Services, Information Technology certification, or equivalent experience is required.
