Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Web Developer for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial industry clients in Newark, DE. As a RAD application programmer / analyst, you will design, develop, code, test, debug and document programming applications to satisfy requirements of one or more user areas. You will typically provide 24-hour daily production and technical support to assigned systems. You will also provide comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level. You will work closely with client management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes. Additionally, you will research and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations. Responsibilities: * Work closely with business and service delivery team to ensure appropriate business measures are defined * Create technical design recommendations for developing and integrating programs per written specifications * Examine applications to ensure adherence to Application Engineering guidelines, processes and procedures * Utilize multiple programming languages and software technologies to ensure applications are suitably fit for use and admissible for maintenance/upgrades * Test, modify, and implement application code; make standard modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with high-level specifications, application support and industry standards * Evaluate service level issues and suggested enhancements escalated by Service Delivery Team to diagnose and address underlying system problems and inefficiencies * Engage third party suppliers on applications support issues Required Skills: * College degree in related technical or business area, specialized training and/or equivalent work experience * Strong teamwork skills * Minimum 2 years of RAD programming and application support experience * Minimum of 1 years financial business experience * Experience with client / server architecture and deployment of RAD solutions to a geographically decentralized user group * Strong communication skills able to convey status updates honestly and effectively to management and business users * Independent application development experience * Minimum of 2 years of SQL Server experience * Minimum of 2 years of T-SQL Stored Procedure writing and SSIS / SSRS experience * Minimum of 2 years of VB/C#/ASP.NET experience * Advanced working knowledge of table driven, customizable, database driven applications. * Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel: spreadsheet functions, charts, pivot tables * Minimum of 2 years of MS Access Database Development, including Access macro, Access VBA, and reports. * Minimum of 2 years of MS Excel / VBA coding * Solid understanding of MS Office suite, including PowerPoint * Solid design, coding, testing and debugging skills * Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures * Minimum 2 years of experience in Linux or Unix systems * Sybase and Clearcase skills would be advantageous * Strongly self-motivated and capable of learning new skills * 24/7 Customer Support and Service Delivery Model Proficient * Application Development Strong * Business Analysis Intermediate * Business Applications Knowledge Intermediate * Business Continuity Testing Knowledge Basic * Database Development Proficient * IT Risk Management Basic * Operations Systems and Data Sources Knowledge Intermediate * Technical Problem Resolution Proficient SGA is a Certified Womans Business Enterprise (WBE) celebrating over thirty years of service to our national client base.
