We are currently seeking an Application Development Lead Program / Project Manager for a permanent opportunity based out of our Vancouver, BC offices Start date(s): Fall'2012 Reference: #70-24-MH2438 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Application Development Lead Program / Project Manager is responsible for ALL major application enhancements and new developments for an application portfolio. This includes the preparation of estimates and detailed plans as well as the execution of the project(s). The AD Lead will ensure that all projects are delivered within the agreed upon constraints (schedule, budget, quality). This program/project manager may manage one or more development projects or have other project managers/leaders reporting to him/her. The AD Lead will be responsible for: Lead an application development core team of analysts Manage, plan and prioritize team deliverables and activities Be required to liaise with business managers or designated leads, business analysts and other roles as they pertain to the projects under his/her control Be required to gain a good understanding of the application portfolio so that appropriate estimates and plans are produced on a timely manner Produce all project deliverables within the expected quality so that all Service Level Agreements associated to them are met or exceeded Ensure the transfer of knowledge to the support team is done properly so that production incidents are minimized Participate with other levels of management in forecasting and planning activities Ensure all procedures established in the account are followed by his/her team Enforce the use of standards, including coding standards Provide guidance in the development of tests cases MUST-HAVES: 15+ years of experience in IT 10+ years of experience in Project Management roles Previous experience as a GIS Project Manager using the following technologies: GE Small World Magik (O-O) for complex applications. MS Windows Operating System. Client server and FAT Client. VMDS. Online and Batch processing. WebSphere. Strong leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to work with and support colleagues. Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills. Effective problem solving. Action oriented, constantly assessing and constructively challenging technical designs Strong Analytical Skills Ability to adapt to and work effectively with clients and co-workers with different styles and levels of technical knowledge PMI Certified NICE-TO-HAVES: Demonstrated ability to work in teams with specific performance targets Application development and support experience within a publicly or privately-held utilities organization. ITIL v3 Foundation Certification Experience with formal methodologies, preferably with Fujitsu's Macroscope Methodology, for Application Management and System Development.
