As a UI Designer in the Customer Returns team in Seattle, Washington, you will work on designing a new user experience for the company's next generation online returns center. You will focus on understanding all aspects of the user experience from the standpoint of the customer. You will work closely with software developers and business users within Customer Returns to come up with the right interfaces. Your work will also involve designing user interfaces for mobile devices. You will be responsible for making the designs usable even for computer novices. You will write the user interface specifications, create any necessary art, and work closely with company engineers to implement the designs. You will also be responsible for the usability testing of the designs: develop test plans, build prototypes, conduct the tests and analyze the results. As the successful applicant, you will possess the following requirements: * 3-5 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role * A strong online portfolio with demonstrated examples of designing great user-centered experiences and applications * Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques Preferred Qualifications: * Ability to prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS is a strong plus * Proficiency with web and accessibility standards * Ability to quickly turn around detailed wireframes, mockups, or visual comps in an iterative environment * Ability to work directly with highly technical teams and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment * Experience assisting user research or usability studies is a plus * E-commerce experience and background designing authoring tools
