Software Quality Assurance Architect
Software Quality Assurance Architect 6 month contract position FUNCTION: Alberta Blue Cross is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Architect that will help develop and document QA processes and standards in the various stages of the testing life cycle. The architect will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to establish best practices and procedures in the various aspects of testing to deliver a high quality product. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develops the test plan process and creates the standard templates to be used throughout the company. • Defines and documents the test design approaches and techniques required for various types of tests. • Creates and documents the guidelines for test case writing and test case review to ensure proper test coverage and adherence to standards. • Works with the QA Manager and Test Leads to establish a defect management process. The architect is responsible for the documentation of the process as well as communicating the process to the test teams and business teams. • Defines and documents the test data and test environment management process. • Defines and document standards for all modules of Quality Center. • Works with the QA Manager and Test Leads to define and publish the UI testing guidelines. • Participates in collaborative design sessions, including business experts, business analysts, developers and testers providing input on UAT processes and potential problems. • Establishes the process for cross-application business scenario testing. • Provides training, mentorship and guidance to the business and test teams. • Provides status reports to the QA Manager. • Contributes to continuous process improvement of the QA-Testing practice discipline through workgroup participation. • Enhances existing standards and procedures as required. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: • 8+ years of extensive experience in software/ Quality Assurance testing with at least 3 years in an architect position. Must have experience in writing architecture documents. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience. • Extensive knowledge and experience of large complex business systems testing using Quality Center and Quick Test Professional. • Experience with manual and automated Business Process Testing implementation • QTP script development and test automation framework creation experience are assets. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both the user community and IS&T. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Decision-making ability and demonstrated leadership potential is essential. • Results oriented, good decision making, innovative and consistently meets deadlines with high quality deliverables.
