Infrastructure Architect - Financial Services Firm Secaucus, NJ Seeking Senior Infrastructure Architect we are looking for someone who has broad knowledge is most of the skills listed below. We have applications designed using start of the art technology hosted in an enterprise grade data centers. Day to Day Task: Review functional and nonfunctional requirements for new systems and enhancements, to identify gaps and inconsistencies, and translate these into requirements for infrastructure build-out. Architect Infrastructure solutions with no single points of failure. Including architecting failover solutions across multiple data centers. Lead new technology integration via requirements analysis, design, and implementation. Make recommendations and support implementations of new tools and technologies. Engage with firm's operations teams and third party vendors on an as needed basis. Skills: 1. Operating Systems - Experience in designing on MS Windows Server technologies (primary focus), Unix, Linux and virtualization (VMWare) 2. Databases - Experience in designing infrastructure for databases, e.g., high availability, D/R solutions around databases – Oracle, MS SQL etc 3. Systems Management - Knowledge of enterprise class network and server management solutions such as HP Openview. 4. Network and Security - Knowledge of enterprise class LAN (Office LAN, Data Center LAN), WAN, VPN and network security (IPSec, Firewalls, DMZ). General awareness of information security. 5. Storage and Backup - Experience in designing solutions for managing enterprise class storage network solutions around technologies like SAN, NAS, Encrypting file system and products like EMC and NetApp storage devices. 6. Internet Technologies - Web servers (IIS, Apache), Proxy servers, Load balancers, Global site selector, Firewalls, Certificate, SSO (Kerberos, ADFS, CA SiteMinder) etc. 7. Directory Services- LDAP/AD/ADAM 8. Application servers - Tomcat, Websphere, Weblogic, Peoplesoft, IBM Lotus Notes, Microsoft Sharepoint, eRoom etc 9. Hardware - Basic knowledge of Dell and HP rack mounted servers, blades, HPUX, Superdome etc 10 Capacity and performance - Experience in designing infrastructure to meet the performance requirements of the application based on the data collected from the legacy system and model for the future grow. Knowledge of the performance measurement diagram and utilities. Desired Educational or Professional Candidate background A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience Five or more years of IT operational experience designing and supporting robust solutions comprising heterogeneous server platforms (Windows, Notes, UNIX, Linux etc.) in a 24X7 production environment. Familiarity with multi-tiered, highly available applications in a hosted data center environment is desirable.
