Albin Engineering Services, Inc. (www.aesi.com) is seeking an ATE Engineer to work as our Employee, on a 6+ month contract to possibly go PERM. Work location is in Palo Alto, CA. Our “solid and rapidly growing” Client is a premier designer, manufacturer, and integrator of reliable communications satellites that support "Global demand" for streaming video, digital music, high-definition TV and broadband Internet. Job Description: The Hardware / Software Engineer will design, develop new, and maintain existing, automated and manually operated test systems for use in testing Satellite's sub-systems for Power, Solar, Charging, and for the flight hardware's Controls sub-systems. Job Requirements: - BS degree, preferably a EE with software and/or firmware - 3+ years of ATE development in a Aerospace or Defense environment required - 3+ years using LabWindows/CVI or C in a “Rack and Stack” test systems environment required - Experience writing comprehensive ATE requirements document - Strong product design experience in Hardware (i.e. analog & digital) circuits and systems from instrumentation to isolation amplifiers to FPGA designs, Hardware design tools and documentation including schematic capture (e.g. Orcad), PCB layout, design simulation tools AND/OR Software experience of low-level control test equipment applications - Strong knowledge and experience with test and measurement instrumentation and controls such as scopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers using RS232, GPIB, USB, VXI, MXI, LXI, interfaces - Strong knowledge of low-level serial communications protocols based on RS422, RS485, HDLC, asynchronous and synchrotrons Must be a US Citizen.
