IT Infrastructure Project Manager Job
Yoh has a career enhancing contract opportunity for an IT Infrastructure Project Manager to join our premiere client in Auburn Hills, MI. Job Overview: Will work as the IT Project Manager on service transitions for Telecom Services, Network Services, and the Operational Managed Service Provider. The IT Project Manager will plan, coordinate, and direct activities of IT Projects ensuring on-time, within budget delivery of goals, objectives, and customer expectations. This project management role is within an automotive Information Technology department which is responsible for all IT (Information Technology) related activities in incentives, auditing, governance, order management, delivery, sales, after sales, parts, service and quality, accounting, customs, tax, travel, HR, legal, etc. Job Responsibilities: - Create and execute an overall Project plan, including major Project synchronization of scheduling, dependencies, milestones, tracking variances, and resource leveling across the projects in the program. - Manage cost, schedule, scope control, change management, and performance across the Project. - Monitor program activities ensuring accuracy, quality, and integrity across the program using standard processes, best practices, and strategies. - Manage the preparation, authorization reporting, and fulfillment of changes to the program. - Assess customer requirements, analyze business events and data, evaluate possible solutions, and present recommendations to management. - Maintain effective relationships and communication with customers, Project Managers, and suppliers as appropriate. - Establish and execute a communication plan for the Project including program level status reporting, financial reporting and reconciliation, and other project reports including a Project lessons learned at the close of the Project. - Identification and recommendation of training needs across the Project. - Identify, monitor, and respond to Project risks and issues. - Keeping current on internal and external professional development / trends within functional area and relate them to area of responsibility. - Create project plan and IT infrastructure budget based on Client's technical standards. - Responsible for monitoring and reporting status of project schedules, and WBS and Financial tracking. - Provide weekly TLR reports to Client's PMO. - Maintain project information within the Client eRoom. - Communicate with CLIENT ITPO Management and Business Stakeholders for each project. - Identify potential areas of opportunity to reduce costs and optimize schedules. - Manage and schedule resources within the PPM tool, setting up tasks and approving time. - Provide positive and effective direction to IT Service Providers and integrate activities with other business and IT departments to ensure successful implementation. Job Qualifications: - A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. - Five plus years of experience in managing IT infrastructure projects - Strong project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing large scale projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors. - Technical knowledge with hands-on experience, managing IT infrastructure installers. - Superior negotiation skills are needed. - Incumbent should have strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills. - Incumbent should have an excellent understanding of project management principles. - MS Project and MS Office tools experience is needed. - A PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification is desired (not required).
