As a RAD Application Programmer / Analyst, you will design, develop, code, test, debug, and document programming applications to satisfy requirements of one or more user areas. You will typically provide 24-hour daily production and technical support to assigned systems. You will also provide comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level. You will work closely with client management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes. Additionally, you will research and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations. This position is located in Newark, Delaware. Responsibilities: Work closely with business and service delivery team to ensure appropriate business measures are defined Create technical design recommendations for developing and integrating programs per written specifications Examine applications to ensure adherence to Application Engineering guidelines, processes and procedures Utilize multiple programming languages and software technologies to ensure applications are suitably fit for use and admissible for maintenance / upgrades Test, modify, and implement application code; make standard modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with high-level specifications, application support, and industry standards Evaluate service level issues and suggested enhancements escalated by Service Delivery Team to diagnose and address underlying system problems and inefficiencies Engage third party suppliers on applications support issues Qualifications: Strong teamwork skills Consultant will work 4 days in Newark, DE with Developers and 1 Day in New York City to gather requirements Key Skills: VBA (3 years - ideal), ASP.NET (3 years - ideal) and exposure to Access Data Development Moving Access Database to a Web Based Database - the current database cannot manage head count, spend budget, etc. The ideal candidate location maybe Philadelphia, PA or Southern and Mid-New Jersey Minimum 2 years of RAD programming and application support experience Minimum 1 year of financial business experience Experience with client/server architecture and deployment of RAD solutions to a geographically decentralized user group Strong communication skills Able to convey status updates honestly and effectively to management and business users Independent application development experience Minimum 2 years of SQL Server experience Minimum 2 years of T-SQL Stored Procedure writing and SSIS / SSRS experience Minimum 2 years of VB / C# / ASP.NET experience Advanced working knowledge of table driven, customizable, and database driven applications Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel: spreadsheet functions, charts, and pivot tables Minimum 2 years of MS Access Database Development including Access Macro, Access VBA, and reports Minimum 2 years of MS Excel / VBA coding Solid understanding of the MS Office Suite including PowerPoint Solid design, coding, testing, and debugging skills Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures Minimum 2 years of experience in Linux or UNIX Systems Sybase and ClearCase skills would be advantageous Strongly self-motivated and capable of learning new skills Technical Skills: 24/7 Customer Support and Service Delivery Model - Proficient Intermediate Business Analysis; Business Applications knowledge; and Business Continuity Testing knowledge - Basic Database Development - Proficient
