Job Description Enterprise Architect (Temp to Hire) Chicago, IL Position: Enterprise Architect Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 6 Months + extension Job Description: We are looking for an Enterprise Architect. Responsible for translating the client's business requirements to define the structures of solutions and architectures and can include systems, applications, and process components. The Architect understands client needs, works in levels of abstraction, applies industry knowledge, and leverages appropriate business elements and information technology to address those needs. This includes working with client personnel and executives to identify functional and non functional requirements and subsequently working with and leading others in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution. Responsible for a wide range of architectural activities from requirements analysis through systems, application and/or process design specification. At the senior level or higher, the position requires significant knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architectures, as well as broad knowledge of new technologies, and will include directing the architectural efforts of less experienced architects. Knowledge Management: Global knowledge sharing and management is key to Client’s success. Will participate in, and/or be responsible for the creation, harvesting, protection, and reuse of Client’s intellectual capital. They will participate actively in knowledge sharing activities like communities of practice, forums, conferences and/or other knowledge exchanges. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned. Skills Environment: Understands and applies knowledge of function, business unit or country objectives in framing, evaluating and selecting alternatives for I/T solutions. Has the required proficiency levels for technical skills and applies skills to the design of architectural solutions. Understands organizational resources, priorities, needs and policies. Communication/Negotiation: Mentors others in the Architect profession. Provides guidance to team members (Project Managers, Architects and IT Specialists, among others) in new or complex solution design, implementation and/or management tools and techniques. Leads negotiations with engagement partners and team members (vendors, subcontractors, customers) to define project goals and strategies for attaining them. Problem Solving: Anticipates potential problems associated with the solution being developed. Develops and leads execution of the technical risk management plan for the solution to be implemented. Understands future customer, industry and information technology trends. Applies this understanding to develop robust solutions and to identify opportunities for future business. Analyzes new and complex situations. Selects, tailors and applies formal architectural methods to analyze customer needs and develop requirements for architectural solutions. Evaluates potential solution elements using a formal methodology and selects most appropriate elements. Assesses business and technical impact of solutions. Leads the implementation of solution or provides expert guidance to the solution implementation team. Identifies architectural methods and supporting tools. Contribution / Leadership: Conducts special projects. Participates in exploratory activities into new market sectors, architectural solutions, technologies and the use of business partners. Leads selection of methodologies, tools and components of total architectural solutions. Exhibits strategic vision of functional or unit mission and applies vision in engagements. Influences people and organizations, including client and CLIENT executive management, on issues related to the development of architectural solutions. Is respected as an architectural leader / subject matter expert inside and outside organization. Leads teams in the solution of new and complex information technology/business problems. May serve as project manager. Leads multifunctional teams.
