Establish goals to meet objectives. Establish group standards, procedures, performance levels, and documentation. Provide guidance to staff to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Establish and recommend changes to policy which affecting the staff group. Be responsible for hiring / firing / disciplinary decisions affecting employees. This is a six month project with a Kforce client in Miami, Florida. Functions: Recommend or terminate external resources (contractors) Ensure that staff skills are maintained on a continual basis to ensure cost / effective operations Monitor operating or project budget Manage relationships with vendors, consultants, contractors, and professional associations to keep informed with existing and evolving industry standards and technologies Develop departmental and/or project tactical planning processes Communicate project status and issues to high level management, users, and staff Adhere to policies and procedures The successful Level-2 PM applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): Five or more years of experience developing and managing project schedules using MS Project as well as advanced understanding and experience using MS Excel Excellent time management, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects; meet demanding deadlines, and adjust to sudden changes in workflow Strong problem solving skills Advanced degree in Science or Technology (Immunology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field is preferred) but is not required Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute is highly desirable At present there are three (3) general areas that need additional support: Genomics, Flow Research Reagent Pipeline Team, and Resource Planning
