Windows Server Admin San Jose, CA Responsibilities Developing tools and automated solutions to support the applications and environments. Writing deployment plans and standard operating procedures. Plan and execute product releases in concert with the development and quality teams. Troubleshooting and resolving issues escalated from the production environment. Acting as a liaison between IT, Operations and product engineering teams. Troubleshooting performance, reliability, and scalability issues. Training other members of staff in how to operate the site. Requirements This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communications and problem-solving skills and the ability to engage and interact with numerous external teams. Ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate deep competency in most or all of the requirements listed below: The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience operating and supporting large-scale Internet hosted applications. Strong, hand-on system administration experience in Microsoft Windows (Server 2003, IIS Manager), Microsoft SQL Server(2005/2008), storage systems (SAN and NAS), load balancers and virtualized environments (VMware vSphere, Amazon AWS). Strong scripting experience with technologies such as Java, ant, XML, HTML, Unix and Windows Experience with Internet technologies and protocols, networking concepts, support systems, and with custom development of tools and solutions to support the applications and environment. The following requirements are not strictly required, but strongly preferred: A BA or BS Degree in a technical field. Familiarity with hosted application service provider environments, including remote administration of servers and devices. Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server. SOC2 / ITIL / SAS70 Compliance Experience. Experience with Project Management. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities and requirements. Familiarity with software release processes, including software builds and source code control. A minimum of three years experience supporting a large-scale SaaS application.
