Sustrans, the charity that's enabling people to travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make every day, is seeking to fill the following key vacancies: Construction & Maintenance Operatives (ref: SUS652) �14,145 - �15, 231per annum (�7.25 - �7.81 per hour) 2 vacancies - 37.5 hours per week - 6 month contract based in or near York Working along various specified lengths of cyclepath within Yorkshire and The Humber, you will be part of a team which maintains and builds traffic-free routes in the area to provide attractive and safe paths to encourage more use by cyclists, walkers and horse riders. It will be necessary to use appropriate tools such as mower, leaf blower, chainsaw, brush cutter and other power and hand tools to carry out tasks. The ability to use other plant machinery would be advantageous and training can be given. Experienced in general construction / maintenance work, you will be practically minded and self-motivated. You will be willing to travel around the area to undertake maintenance duties in a safe and professional manner.
