Technical Writer (1828619) San Jose, CA 6 month Contract Start Date: ASAP Job Description: As a part of the software unit, join the technical publications team to update the administrator guide, user guide, and release notes for an upcoming release of the Backup & Restore product line. Must be familiar with installing product software as a virtual machine using VMware, and able to configure it using the product GUI. Work with Engineering, QA, Training, and Product Management to use specs and other information to develop accurate, organized, consistent documentation and online help. Ability to manage and meet documentation schedule. Attention to detail and self-editing, able to match writing style to current documentation. May also contribute to documentation of Network Security product line or others. Required skills: FrameMaker 9 or 10, RoboHelp, MS Office, excellent writing and communication skills, solid understanding of networking fundamentals, comfortable with network equipment (able to connect device to switch, some understanding of hardware) Desired skills: Network security documentation experience, backup/restore documentation experience, Adobe Illustrator
