Global IT SAP Basis Administrator(HCM,Netwrk,ESX VmWare,HW,Security) Pittsburgh, PA Role: Global IT SAP Basis Administrator Job Location: Pittsburgh, PA Start Date: ASAP Email: hr@bricklogix.com Description The Global IT SAP Basis Administrator – shall be responsible for installing, maintaining, and providing on-going technical support for all SAP systems in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and HCM (Human Capital Management) landscapes. System administration shall include hardware, network, operating system, database, SAP Basis functions, and Security. 1. List of tasks • Networking Support o Implement and maintain Ethernet switches for the SAP domain. o Implement and maintain SAN (storage area network) switches for the SAP system landscapes. o Ensure that DNS (domain name system) is configured to support SAP server to server communications and end-user access. • Hardware o Install, configure, and perform proactive monitoring and maintenance on physical hardware of SAP servers, including bios and hard drive firmware updates. o Install, configure, and perform proactive monitoring and maintenance on SAN (storage area network), NAS (network attached storage). • Operating System and Virtualization System Administration o Install, configure, and perform routine proactive monitoring and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. Install and maintain operating system security measures, including domain and local users and groups to ensure SAP security and integrity Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly system monitoring Implement Windows security patches per change management procedures and policies Install and maintain OS directory structure and security according to established standards per SAP, Oracle, and FTP application interface requirements o Perform Windows Operating system upgrades per SAP and Oracle requirements and Microsoft support life-cycle o Install and configure ESX Virtual hosts for all non-productive SAP systems o Employ virtualization for SAP upgrades, system refreshes, prepare evaluation and testing, and training systems • Database Administration o Install, configure, and perform routine proactive monitoring and maintenance of Oracle database per SAP support roadmap. Install and maintain Oracle database security measures, including Oracle system user accounts to ensure SAP security and integrity Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly database monitoring Monitor database space requirements and perform routine data file and tablespace management; database table and index integrity checks Implement Oracle patches and upgrades per change management procedures and policies o Implement, monitor, and validate daily full-online and weekly offline database backups o Monitor database availability o Responsible for preparing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery procedures for all SAP Systems Prepare and maintain recovery procedures for all types of failures • Authorizations and SAP Security o Manage all aspects of SAP system security to ensure the integrity and availability of SAP Systems Windows directory security and share permissions Windows system user groups and accounts Oracle system users ESX VMWare security o Design, implement, and maintain SAP Security Authorization Roles per IT Audit Controls o Assign and maintain SAP user account access per IT Audit Controls • SAP Basis Tasks o Ensure availability of SAP production systems through routine monitoring and proactive maintenance per IT policy o Perform routine proactive monitoring of SAP systems per procedures o Enforce change management policies to maintain stability of Production SAP systems o Provide on-going support to SAP Team and end-users: User administration, security, and authorization roles Printing Job Scheduling SAP OSS Notes Transport Management o Provide Basis support during SAP Implementations and Upgrades o Refresh Sandbox and Quality Assurance Systems with current Production data per established schedule o Provide second-tier help desk technical support on all SAP systems. 2. Responsibilities (main areas of responsibilities of the position) • Ensure availability, recoverability, and performance of SAP Production systems • Maintain security and integrity of SAP systems • Provide Helpdesk support for SAP technical requests 3. Key performance indicators (main indicators on which the performance in the position can be assessed) • SAP Production system availability • SAP system recoverability • Maintain IT Audit and Control measures Profile 1.Basic requirements (Education, Level of Experience, Language) • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology; a related field, or equivalent work experience. • Experience with 2 Full Life Cycle Implementations (less with multiple rollouts); • 5 years of SAP Basis Administration; • Advanced experience in installing, configuring, and supporting SAP systems on a Windows/Oracle platform; • Advanced knowledge of SAP Security administration; • Advanced experience preparing and testing disaster recovery plans; • Fluent in English (written & spoken); • Open to travel (+/- 20%) 2. Needed Knowledges (Technical knowledge required by the position) o Good knowledge of Windows, Oracle; o SAP Certification in Basis Administration; o SAP Security administration; o Knowledge of networking, hardware, SANs, ESX VMWare a plus 3. Needed skills (Soft skills required by the position as People management, analytical skills, problem solving,...) o Customer oriented; o Strong Analytical; o Expert problem solving skills (root cause analysis); o Oral & written communication; o Organizational skills; o Must be a team player
