Immediate long-term (1+ year) opportunity for SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER FOR AUTOMATION PRODUCTS for our Cleveland, OH client. SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position will involve functional test development and execution activities, using both automated test tools for ViewE. The scope of work is generally focused on software test engineering tasks to ensure quality software and documentation for other testers are developed. The position requires working with a project lead and other test engineers to develop a test bed that can be used for evaluating several Rockwell products. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Working knowledge of the software development life cycle. * Direct experience in the use, configuration of, or technical support of automation software and hardware. * Typically 1 - 3 years experience in Software and/or Embedded Software Testing, Software Development, Applications Engineering work, Technical Support, or other Quality Assurance role. * Good knowledge of software test engineering methods and tools * Ability to debug complex issues and perform non-systematic testing to determine the root cause of issues. * Ability to work independently with little supervision, and to prioritize and execute multiple activities in parallel. * Ensure documented test cases and specifications validate documented testware requirements. * Utilize automated test tools and methods to develop this new testware. * Creative thinking in designing test scenarios and test cases and solutions to tool or programming issues; self-motivated and quick to learn new areas. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. DESIRED EXPERIENCE * Basic understanding of object oriented programming techniques. * Familiar with Microsoft Operating System configuration and deployment * Basic understanding of Virtualization technologies * Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products is a plus (upload / download / ladder logic programming in RSLogix 5000) * Basic understanding of computer networking (Ethernet addressing) * Test engineer, familar with RA product and virtualization. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 4-year degree, or equivalent, preferably a Bachelor of Science in engineering or computer science.
