Web Content Coordinator
Web Content Coordinator Titchfield (one year fixed term) £20,239 to £25,647 About us The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is where people count. It's where we add up the numbers – collecting and publishing official statistics that inform decision-making in government and beyond. And at the heart of our statistics are our people – we depend on their expertise to produce first class data. Our Communication Division, home to the Publishing , Editorial, Media Relations, Social Media and Customer Contact Centre Teams, provides people like academics, researchers, economists, students and the media with access to our statistics. About the role Working in Communication Division, you’ll help with the publication of statistical content to the ONS website. As well as inputting and updating content through our content management system, Tridion, you’ll work with internal clients and advise them on improving accessibility, usability and functionality. And you’ll also carry out Health Checks to make sure that the content you handle is consistent and conforms to our zero tolerance on errors. Constantly reviewing the publishing system and making recommendations for improvements, you’ll help develop and introduce processes and workflows that will make sure our production process is as efficient and effective as possible. You will, in short, be instrumental in the publishing of information and statistics that are fundamental to the running of the country. The post in Newport is permanent and in Titchfield it is fixed term for one year. The post will require travel to other ONS sites and may include overnight stays and will be expected to cover occasional unsociable hours. About you Having already worked in web publishing and with content management systems, you understand the principles of making web content accessible and usable. Always focused on customer service, you know how to respond to enquiries and requests about websites and updating content, and can actively help to improve accessibility and functionality. You’re a team player, someone who can manage and develop others as well as support your own manager, whilst constantly looking to deliver the most efficient and cost-effective outcomes. And of course, you’ve excellent time management and organisational skills – you can work towards tight deadlines in a pressured environment, always paying attention to detail and producing consistently good work. Working at the Office for National Statistics We’re a welcoming, friendly community of professionals, who are relaxed yet knowledgeable. We’re fast-paced, and we’re motivated and passionate about what we do. By joining us, you’ll make a real difference . We’re also committed to helping you achieve a healthy work/life balance by offering flexible working options and a generous holiday allowance. And we’ve some impressive on-site facilities too.
