LEAD ENGINEER-VOIP INTEGRATION
Our client is a world leader in virtual/cloud and storage technologies seeking a senior technical resource to be responsible for developing enterprise strategies and direction for network and telecommunication systems solutions using current and emerging technologies. This candidate will take responsibility for providing technical leadership in Enterprise Networking and VoIP planning, design, engineering, installation, documentation and diagnostics. In addition, s/he will complete assigned complex or long-term network and telecommunications projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads a group of engineers, analysts and technicians and/or one or more project engineers assigned for the duration of a project. May provide input for project team members performance appraisals. Analyzes, schedules, implements and documents hardware, software and facilities for assigned projects. Monitors network and voice performance and ensure capacity planning is performed and assesses and makes recommendations for improvement. Plans and evaluates complex existing network and telecommunications systems and makes recommendations for resources required to maintain and/or expand service levels. Performs troubleshooting procedures and design resolution scripts. Identifies and evaluates new products and technologies. Translates business requirements into network, telecommunications or process designs. REQUIREMENTS: At least 5 years of network and telecommunications engineering experience, including experience as a lead/project engineer Focused experience in leading Data Center and end point VoIP installations Project management skills, including scheduling, cost tracking, development of task plans and progress/status reporting Demonstrated experience designing and implementing large scale complex network solutions Strong proficiency in the design, configuration and implementation of complex routed, switched network architectures, SONET, ATM, Frame Relay, T1, Fractional T1 wide area architectures, BGP, EIGRP, RIP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, WINS and TCP/IP and other complex network protocols/services Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of workgroup Switches, campus Switches, Routers, dial-in/dial-out central sites and DSU/CSU hardware Implementation of the EIA/TIA structured cabling architecture specifications and procedures Design and maintenance of the network architecture to support distributed processing Client Server topologies CISCO certificate preferred Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field or equivalent technical training
