Our client is currently seeking a Windows Implementation Engineer. Main Duties: * Provide project deployment of small, medium and large scale/complexity business technology efforts * Support key Technology Currency initiatives - Virtualization, Shared Environment, End of Life (OS & HW), Datacenter, and Capacity Planning * Maintains operation, monitoring and integrity of pre-production systems to meet established standards * Performs Design, Build, Testing, Implementation and Go Live tasks for assigned projects impacting the Windows & UNIX Platform for Retail Technology Services * Ensures infrastructure successfully passes all tollgates and reviews * Provides and validates all assigned implementations are fully documented in accordance with RTS PMO Delivery Process * Provides and validates all implementations are supportable, meet/exceed requirements and are captured in System Center Configuration Management * Interfaces with internal and external business and technical partners The successful Windows Implementation Engineer will meet the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): * Minimum of 5 years experience supporting and troubleshooting technical issues in a large and complex environment * Minimum 5 years experience of working in a Systems Admin/engineering role on Windows / UNIX based server environments - Windows, AIX, Solaris and Linux * 3-5 years of infrastructure experience in relation to deploying Enterprise applications on the Windows / Unix Platforms * 5-7 years of VMware experience, knowledge of virtualization concepts and techniques * Strong knowledge of Web, IIS and SQL products and their integration with the Windows Platform * MCSE preferred however not required - will train the right candidate * Strong research, investigation and evaluation skills * Proven ability to communicate technical and production related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff * Results oriented and highly flexible in work assignments * Experience in capacity planning, systems performance analysis and optimization in a distributed client/server environment * Comprehensive understanding of networks, DNS, web services, tomcat & Java preferred * Capability of troubleshooting performance issues. Knowledge of DTRACE would be a plus. * Familiarity with distributed enterprise management tools such as Tivoli, SNMP, PERFMON or their equivalents are also a requirement * Skilled at shell and Perl scripting * Experience with NAS & SAN is a must.
