This is an exciting opportunity for a Web Developer to join an organization that specializes in creating web-based applications within the healthcare industry. These applications are used by insurance companies to manage medical benefits and claims (from submitting, choosing the appropriate provider, order processing and billing). As a member of the team, you will be responsible for working with the business analysts to help gather requirements as well as other developers and architects to help design and implement projects or components. You will work closely with the chief architect and product architects to ensure product/components meet the business requirements, fit into the overall product line, and are reliable and professional. You will also have the opportunity to assess new web technologies and contribute to the overall web architecture, making recommendations on when to incorporate new technology into the framework and infrastructure. Responsibilities include: Design and develop high-volume, high-performance, high-availability, service-oriented Java applications using proven Java frameworks and technologies. Design and develop reusable libraries and APIs. To contribute to best practice for Java application development. Write unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality Work with the business analysts and chief architect to explore and suggest appropriate technical solutions to achieve the required product features as well as monitoring technical progress against plans, while safeguarding functionality, scalability and performance. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or logic oriented discipline Minimum of 6-7 solid years of Java Senior-level knowledge of Servlets/JSP, Apache Tomcat Senior-level experience with hand coding HTML and CSS Experience with JavaScript libraries such as JQuery Experience with Web Frameworks such as Grails (not required, but a strong plus), SpringMVC, or Struts Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Design Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Must be detail oriented, organized, and have the ability to multi-task Must be flexible and have a “can do" attitude Experience working in and have the ability to understand complex business processes and their solutions Programming experience in Insurance and/or healthcare industry is a plus Large/ enterprise application development experience is a plus Experience with Object Relational Frameworks such as Hibernate is a plus Experience with Git (not required, but a strong plus) and/or CVS Participate in testing of project enhancements and regression testing before production release
