Job Summary: The Electronics Engineer is responsible for delivering electrical and electronic products based on industry standard development practices and processes. Primary Responsibilities & Duties: Responsible for hardware development for Battery Management Systems Control units. Hardware design (from draft to test and final implementation) for Battery Pack Electronic Control Units (Embedded Systems) Must have the following Hardware experience Functional: (hardware drivers, analog/digital I/O, control algorithms, serial interfaces (J1708/1939, CAN, LIN, ISO9141, KW 2000) and diagnostics Development support: Data monitoring and Data acquisition Manufacturing support: ICT, EOL, Burn In Develop hardware specifications together with supplier/customer Direct experience with EMI/EMC concepts, testing and mitigation DFMEA's and DVP electrical and electronics systems and components Effectively communicate and work with other team members on various projects as required Define, coordinate and conduct design verification testing at component, subsystem, and system level for electronics, including but not limited to EMI/EMC, HALT, HAST, etc. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, deliverables and quality plans Work on program specific cell or pack electrical and electronics development to insure components and systems meet all program targets for technical attributes, design, cost, quality, etc. Prepare & present technical papers externally, and properly document all technical learning internally. Position Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Specialized knowledge in hardware design and previous use of design and simulation tools. Minimum 5 years’ experience in the design, development and validation of electrical and electronic systems including electrical and electronics schematics, PCB layout, DVP and PPAP. Experience with the design and validation of electronics hardware and software is required, advanced lithium ion battery management and protection systems experience would be a plus. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project is required. Experience in leading electronics related projects through the complete automotive product development cycle. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills - position requires strong interaction in multi-functional team environment especially cross-functionally within the company Very good skills in written and spoken English are required. Effective project management, organizational and teamwork skills are required. Must be a self-starter who takes the initiative to find solutions to technical challenges. Must demonstrate expertise in designing and validation with a wide range of components and manufacturing processes. Must demonstrate knowledge of and proficiency with creative problem solving methods. Good understanding of automotive design and documentation standards. Awareness of product cost engineering & product liability. Key Competencies: Takes actions and displays behaviors that demonstrate ownership in the success of the company.
