Position Description: A Data Warehousing / Business Intelligence team is in need of a Senior Cognos developer.Consultant should have extensive expertise in Cognos BI product. This experience should include an excellent understanding of all phases from design, development, deployment and end user support. Applicant should be experienced enough to provide training to other team members. Qualifications 1. 8 + years of hands-on Cognos reporting experience in a data warehouse environment. 2. 1 + years experience with Cognos 8 reporting and modeling (Must have at least 6 months of version 8.4 ) 3. 5 + years experience with data warehousing life cycle and dimensional modeling 4. In-depth experience with the Cognos 8 Suite: Transformer, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, and Query Studio 5. Extensive experience with Framework Manager including DMR, setting up hierarchies and performance tuning and optimizing framework environment 6. Advanced SQL programming experience, must be able to easily write free form SQL 7. Strong analytical and problem solving skills 8. Excellent communication skills 9. Proficient in data collection & analysis 10. Strong database knowledge of DB2 / SQL Server, stored procedures and functions 11. Able to work independently or in a team environment
