Android Application Development Engineer Humanistic Robotics, Inc. (HRI) is seeking a hands-on, experienced software development engineer to join our engineering team for a one to three month contract project. Candidates should have a strong academic background and experience with Android application development. Experience with networking and video stream management is strongly preferred. An engineer at HRI will work on user interfaces for a variety of novel robotic and industrial control systems in a fast-paced environment with significant responsibilities. He or she will work closely with other members of our interdisciplinary engineering team and management. Key Requirements • US Citizen or Permanent Resident • BS in Computer/Software Engineering or related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience developing on an Android platform • Experience designing intuitive user interfaces for the display of complex data and controls • Excellent communication and documentation skills, including experience with source code control (SVN, Git) • Experience working in regulated software development environment • iOS and/or desktop Linux experience a plus Humanistic Robotics, Inc. is dedicated to making the world safer and more efficient through the use of robotics, with total-system robotic integration and embedded electronics that help other robotic developers achieve their goals. HRI is presently focused on the development and manufacturing of an open-architecture control system that enables complex system integration to happen at minimum cost and maximum flexibility. The first implementation of this control system is used to counter explosive threats affecting both soldiers and civilians in post-conflict environments. To that end, HRI is a US Government prime contractor developing technology for use in military and humanitarian explosives clearance operations against landmines, IED's and other leftover munitions.
