They are seeking someone with production support experience in SQL 2000, 2005 and 2008. Duties include: Responsible for all functions associated with the implementation and maintenance of SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 databases including security, back-up/restoration, logging, reporting and recovery procedures. Proactively optimize performance of databases through ongoing administration including monitoring, performance and index tuning, and updating/verifying current backup/recovery procedures, troubleshoot network bottlenecks, disk queue issues, table configurations, load monitoring, integrity checks. Design and maintenance of DTS/SSIS packages. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly data maintenance tasks Assist in client support and setup configurations Monitoring of scheduled jobs. Install and configure multiple instances and versions and components of SQL server, including SQL server clustering, Reporting services, notification services, and analysis services. Maintain SQL Server using mount points Experience/Support of SQL Server Replication. Assist in client support and setup configurations. Expected to work some weekend, and after hours. Required Skills: Minimum of 5 years of experience performing database administration/support functions as described above. Working experience with installing and configuring SQL server 2000/2005/2008/2008 R2. Cluster experience is a must. Operational experience with SQL 2000/2005/2008. Experience creating and maintaining SSIS packages. Experience Performance monitoring server and SQL server and tuning of queries. Experience with migrating large databases. Experienced in clustered and non-clustered environments, MS performance tools (SSMS & Performance dashboard), SQL Lite speed, SQL replication and Log shipping. Fundamental knowledge of SQL Server architecture, relational database concepts and SQL -Proficient SQL development skills for the purpose of troubleshooting, supporting and tuning. Experience in sizing and data modelling for an enterprise-level database.
