Job Title: Cogno's BI ETL transfer and training, Liverpool, competitive day rate and flexibility on days worked This contract will be for 3 months initially to assist the hands on Training and Knowledge transfer of all aspects of Cognos BI ETL to their internal team. The position holder will be responsible for enhancing, developing and maintaining the ETL in line with existing and new reporting requirements. The BI datawarehouse references and transforms data from a number of in-house applications including MS Great Plains, a bespoke .NET solution and external source files. The Analyst will play a pivotal role within the Application team to identify enhancements to related systems and drive towards the imitative of delivering stable, robust systems within the organisation. Your duties will include the following: * Manage the support, maintenance and enhancements to Cognos 8 BI; (SSIS / Framework Manager) * Provide operational support for users including the creation of reports and changes to data models; * Ensure support requests are recorded, prioritised and delivered as planned; * Manage BI Change Deployment from scoping through to development, testing and deployment; * Assist the team in decommissioning legacy Crystal Reports with Cognos BI solutions; * Administrative monitoring and fault resolution of the BI solution; * Definition and documentation of standards and processes to manage business and technical changes; * Plan and undertake user report authoring training to drive best practice; * Manage systems releases and testing activities in line with existing processes (functional/technical specifications, test plans, support documentation) * Active Technical and Analysis involvement in ongoing IT / IS group projects and related support desk issues; (.NET; Great Plains etc) Essential Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
