Trainer
Title: Training Facilitator Location: Various (Upstate New York, New York City/Long Island, Massachusetts/Rhode Island) Summary of Position: This training will prepare Field-based employees to successfully follow new policies and procedures related to implementation of the USFP. Learners will be introduced to basic accounting changes that Client is now using and will learn what happens before and after they enter time and other cost information. In particular, they will learn to enter time and other cost information in accordance with the new policies. This training is intended to guide learners toward learning objectives by allowing them to practice tasks for the day-to-day situations of Field workers. During scenario-based exercises, learners will use job aids and tools that they will need to reference on the job. By incorporating the use of these materials into the training, they will learn how to support themselves on the job. During training, questions may arise that are specific to the type of work and challenges that Field workers encounter in their daily assignments. This is where Facilitator and Supervisor knowledge and support will be most critical. Job Responsibilities: Provides guidance on how to select the appropriate track and describes which training handouts will need to be assembled and distributed. Facilitators should review the audience composition ahead of time and ensure they have all the necessary materials for the day(s) of training. During training, facilitators will be required to: Collect attendance information Start and stop the DVD as instructed (for exercises) Address questions and/or maintain a parking lot for questions that cannot be answered during training. Job Qualifications: 5+ years of utility experience, particularly in a union environment. Experience as a trainer/facilitator preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills including active listening and presentation skills Must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to perform in a team environment, collaborate with others, and meet deadlines. Strong knowledge of technical and safety policies/procedures/standards and regulatory requirements. Understanding of training and development principles and adult learning theory Working knowledge of personal computers and various business related software. Overnight travel is required.
