3rd Line Support - Server - Desktop - INSURANCE - Contract An urgent need for an experienced contractor is required to provide Server and Desktop support for a world leading Insurance organisation. This is an initial 3 months contract with possibilities of extensions. This position provides technical support of server (70%) and desktop (30%) infrastructure, applications and related technologies. Support includes specification, installation and testing of computer systems within established standards and guidelines. Technologies • Microsoft: o Windows Server 2000/2003/2008, Windows XP/7 desktop o Active Directory user administration / RIS / Print / FTP o Member server administration, NTFS / shares and user data migration experience o Scripting (batch / VBScript) o System Centre Configuration Manager / WSUS o Office 2003 / 2007 / 2010 o Clustering / NLB • Dell Open Manage / Dell IT Assistant / DRAC • McAfee EPO / DLP • Software packaging / deployment • Dell server and desktop • RAID array configuration • Procurement / design • Comms room / server room / data centre management (capacity management) / Rack management • Firmware / driver testing and deployment • Backup device troubleshooting • Unix administration Additional Tasks / Activities • Strong experience in working in a busy technical support environment • Experience working within a call management system • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley compliance • Provide support for infrastructure projects where appropriate.
