Richmond Council / Visit Richmond are looking for people with a passion for Richmond upon thames and a knowledge of its heritage to become a Richmond Ambassor who will signpost visitors and tourists during the Olympics. This is your chance to be part of the Olympic excitement in the Borough: become a Richmond Olympic Volunteer, helping spectators to have a truly memorable experience of the Olympic events in the Borough. Use your local knowledge to welcome visitors to the Borough (and answer their questions), at one of the stations along the route for the • Torch Relay 24th and 27th July • Men's Cycle Race - 28th July - Event 10.00 - 16.15 • Women's Cycle Race - 29th July - Event 12.00 - 16.15 • Cycle Time Trials - 1 August - Events 12.30 - 13.45 and 14.15 - 16.05 Volunteers will work in teams and as spectators are expected to arrive early, some volunteers will be needed from 2 hours before the event and some until one hour after the event. Please note that due to road closures and bus restrictions this role will suit volunteers who live locally and don't have far to travel. You don't have to commit to every event but the more you do, the more you will feel part of the Olympic family. All volunteers are asked to complete and return an application form before they are registered for the events. You will need a passion for Richmond upon Thames and knowledge of its heritage.
