Kforce currently has a great long term contract opportunity for a consultative Storage System Administrator. This individual will be for an Engineering Lab and will provide a focus on virtualization. This position is located in Durham, North Carolina. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Identifies system integrity issues and solutions for the full system life cycle from concept to disposal Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, provides cost and risk advice, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems Ensures designs are compatible with the architecture and allocates requirements to segments Analyzes science, engineering, business, and all other data processing problems for application to electronic data processing systems Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations May analyze or recommend commercially available software May mentor junior engineers and software developers Primary duties include performing SAN administration, operations and maintenance of a large enterprise Storage Area Network and drive future endeavors and needs of the business Candidate must have 5 -7 years of experience in the following technologies: NetApp Storage devices, routers, bridges, switches, EMC, Hitachi Solaris Linux Red Hat Working knowledge of networking Familiar with virtual technologies
