Currently we are seeking to hire a full time TEMP (for approximately 90 days) Graphic Designer in our corporate office located in Fairfield, CA. We offer a very competitive hourly rate. Major Responsibilities: § Design and produce top quality SCHURMAN RETAIL GROUP marketing materials in support of the Marketing Department goals. § Manage brand standards for SCHURMAN RETAIL GROUP. Establish standards of quality and procedures for print to be followed by department. § Utilize own artistic ability, training and creativity to create original and high-quality marketing assets for SCHURMAN RETAIL GROUP. ° Apply creative processes to develop unique designs ° Prepare layouts, sketches, mock-ups and other materials to illustrate new product concepts ° Keep current with trends in design, art, color, and product enhancement, as well as other market trends § Design and manage all phases of graphic design cycle to ensure proper flow, turnaround time, quality and accuracy of work by department. § Work closely with SCHURMAN RETAIL GROUP Marketing team to coordinate production of launch marketing with launch publication. § Develop brand appropriate copy for marketing; i.e. posters, ads. Insure that correct disclaimers are included on specific marketing collateral. § Serve as graphic contact with outside vendors regarding graphics files, printing process. Implement procedures to streamline any challenges that arise. § Liaison with store teams and management as needed to communicate/resolve marketing objectives. § Manage complex distribution of all collateral with vendors, creating distros for all graphic projects. Collateral may include art, graphic solutions, related fixture solutions. § Contribute to meeting all established departmental budget goals. Negotiate and discuss cost savings initiatives when possible. Provide estimates/bids prior to production. § Manage workload to meet all scheduled deadlines. § Track and report on status of assignments/projects weekly. § Prioritize and effectively manage Production Assistant’s time and productivity. § Perform Graphic Designer and production duties – perform additional duties as required. Qualifications: § 5 to 10 years related design or publishing experience necessary. § Graphic design background and experience in mocking up concepts and products. § Must have a good understanding of color (4c process and electronic pre-press). § Must be a team player, with excellent communication and organizational skills. § Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design [BFA preferred] or comparable experience. Computer Skills: § Proficiency in CS5 - In Design, PhotoShop and Illustrator § Basic skill level in e-mail, font management applications, scanning software, bar code tools, Microsoft Office. § Understanding of file formats Please send your resume to hr@srgretail.com EOE.
