A fast-growing Southern California high tech company specializing in advanced defense and homeland security solutions is seeking a highly motivated Desktop Support Technician. The successful candidate will execute all aspects of the Help Desk Support process and procedures as a member of the MIS support team. Responsibilities: Provides technical support of computers and associated networks Installs, troubleshoots, services, and repairs personal computers, network equipment such as servers, modems, multiplexers, related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors Provides personal computer, hardware, and software support Installs, services, and repairs personal computers and installs attendant software Connect personal computers and terminals to existing data networks Maintains network diagrams and circuit records Maintains trouble logs Instructs users in the use of personal computers and networks Investigates information, networks, and communications needs of users, and makes recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases Performs basic PC, PBX, and network software programming Desktop Support Technician Qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent two year degree in a computer related field - preferred High School Diploma/GED 1-3 years experience working in a corporate IT environment is required Must have a solid understanding of the following: Windows Active Directory, Server Operating Systems, Windows 7 as well as Windows XP, and MS Exchange Ability to work in a demanding fast paced environment and adapt to new situations Good communication skills - must be able to articulate the problem or solution to the end-user Be a self-starter and take instructions in order to prioritize accordingly Operation of a computer and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. Excellent verbal and written skills Good problem solving ability Interdisciplinary outlook, team and goal oriented approach Strong self-motivation and ability to work in a diverse work force Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States of America without sponsorship.
