My client is a well established bank; they are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst (Banking/Loan Documents) at their Milwaukee, WI for a 3 months contract with a strong possibility of extension. Job Description: Overview • Assist with developing, maintaining, and mining large repositories of internal and external data financial data from various accounting and information systems using advanced Excel data tools. • Through independent review of loan data, identify reconciling and suspense items, resolve balance issues, and processes account corrections. • Provide in depth account analysis. Research misapplied payments / transactions and requests payment re-posts with a third-party processor as needed. • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. • Develop an understanding of loan transactions to reconcile loan portfolio accounting system data and between the traditional contractual loan servicing systems and third-party processed purchase accounting loan servicing system. • Develop an understanding of complex accounting/finance concepts and assist in preparing reports for management and other relevant stakeholders summarizing volumes of data in a manner consistent with those accounting/ finance concepts • Assist with special projects and procedure documentation. Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare, examine or analyze accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs. Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems. Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. What we’re looking for: Education/Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related financial discipline required. • An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred. • 5 to 7 years financial and/or accounting experience required. Skills and Competencies: • Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking. • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time. • Ability to apply accounting and mathematical principles to work as needed. • Ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses preferred. • Knowledge of legal and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to accounting. • Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related accounting software.
