My client is looking for an IT Technician with 2nd/3rd Line Support preferably within Local Authorities or Schools. You would be required - To support the Senior IT Support Officer to provide technical support in the installation, maintenance and support of computer networks and software in Schools and other educational establishments. To cooperate closely with other IT support workers in the schools and the Council - Have knowledge and experience of School IT systems including servers, workstations, operating systems, networks and interactions with Internet, email and WAN infrastructures. - Have knowledge of Data Protection Act, Computer Misuse Act, Copyright law, Legislation regarding the health and safety issues of using computers in an office environment. - Have effective communication skills with a wide range of people, by telephone and in person, with a range of school and Council staff. - Have the ability to accurately follow instructions when installing equipment and software. - Be able to maintain records in an organized way with meticulous attention to detail so as to account for time and work commitments. - To explain IT operations to persons with little prior IT knowledge. - To sensitively guide clients in solving problems using the telephone, remote support and site visits. - Solving IT system faults - To work effectively within a team.
