Job Title: Research Accountant Wage: £17.04 ph (6 month contract) Location: Liverpool, Merseyside Job Description The main purpose of the role is to assist the Office in the delivery of defined projects and in the development of new financial processes. Duties will include; - Support newly restructured Research Support Office on the achievement of a successful research finance year end ensuring all grants, accruals, provisions are reflected on an accurate and timely basis - Support induction and training ensuring staff are fully conversant with year end processes and are able to lead on the process in future quarter and year ends - Review processes to ensure all are compliant with statutory reporting requirements - Review and refine quarterly close down process to ensure accurate quarterly reporting of research position - - Develop solutions to current live issues (capital funding, surplus &deficits, prior year adjustments) - Liaise with central finance to develop and implement the accurate reporting of information to SMT and FMT as part of the overall reporting pack The ideal candidate will ideally be: - Qualified accountant - Experienced within a similar role - Strong communicator
