Communications Partner - SCM Working with the SCM Management team, work stream leads and key individuals to build the communications strategy that supports the SCM activities across the group. As a journalist - to write content for various group or new communications channels and shape the external and internal perception of SCM in accordance with guidance. As a member of the SCM team, they will be a key input to the functional strategy providing communications insight and help to deliver functional success for the business. Helping to shape the messaging - developing appropriate messaging for both internal and external audiences. As a member of the communications team Working with the communications team to deliver content for the key internal and external communications channels across the Group. Consistent view: An important part of the role is to build a consistent (company) view across communications working with the communications manager/ communications advisor at Group level. Advise on the options available - Provide communications insight and options, regarding, audience, messaging and channels. Deliver your opinion and allow SCM to make educated choices on the way forward. Protect the Brand and the Group Communications Processes When working with SCM, you need to be the protector of the Group communications style and process. You need to challenge SCM to stay within the brand guidelines and then ensure that we achieve consistency across the Group. Training - Use expertise and experience to coach SCM colleagues on communications techniques and best practice. Person Specification Degree educated, preferably in English, Journalism, Marketing, or Communications. ? The ideal candidate must have experience in managing a range of communication channels ? Ideally having supported/ partnered with SCM before in communications programmes ? Excellent writing skills, regularly writing and sub-editing for a variety of formats/media ? Have eye for detail ? Comfortable and confident with carrying out a range of high and low profile tasks ? Developing simple campaigns to defined objectives ? Providing tactical advice to managers on communication practice ? Developing personal networks ? Dealing with highly confidential information ? Understands the role and benefits of face-to-face communication ? Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills ? Strong organisation and co-ordination skills ? Able to work effectively as part of a team ? Ability to work on own initiative ? Takes a proactive approach ? Ability to take responsibility and manage tasks through to completion ?
