We have a client who is seeking to develop an IPTV channel for deployment on outlets such as ROKU. I. At this point we are gathering bids for conceptual development statement and budget including: 1. development times 2. development, coding and deployment costs 3. software, creative and artwork needs 4. delivery channel and hardware and as well, server- and/or cloud-based requirements 5. licensing requirements, if any 6. deployment necessities 7. operational management requirements including ease of management 8. compare and contrast ROKU and Apple TV regarding items 1-7, above 9. proposal of any other format that is both viable and merchantable II. The bid you submit should be binding upon you and in sufficient details as to allow the bid to be understood. III. Please provide your bid with as much detail as possible, covering each point listed. The client's channel requirements are: 1. present audio files 2. present video files 3. both over IPTV channels such as those on ROKU, Apple TV, etc. 4. gather personal information from viewers 5. provide a "sign-up" method allowing us to track video/audio usage. 6. provide a merchant cart system allowing users/subscribers to access video/audio files for which the authors require a premium; or, utilize a pre-existing merchant system already online. 7. provide a merchant system whereby a monthly access fee can be charged 8. provide a multiple quality venue where the highest resolution/sound playable by the user will be delivered to that user 9. allow the easy addition, or deletion, of audio/video files and descriptions thereof along with (i) static images, and/or (ii) audio/video trailers 10. provide an accounting system that is both comprehensive and easily-accessed for (i) audio/video usage (ii) personal opinions of users based on clicked input (such as 1-10, with 10 being the highest). (iii) financial accounting including a running profit/loss from activities (iv) manual entry of costs and expenses from various media sources, authors and vendors 11. have as an "engine" a common source such as Drupal, WordPress, etc. that does not require specialized techs to modify. 12. as much of the system as possible must be encrypted including but not limited to delivery of content, maintenance of customer data and accounting 13. downloading or recording of audio/video files must be restricted as per Netflix style 14. the channel that is created must be compatible with as many outlets as possible such as Roku, Apple TV, etc. 15. live streaming events, both on a charged and/or free basis, should be allowed including provision for incoming telephone calls over VoIP system such as Skype and switched sources. 16. the upload system should be as flexible as possible allowing as many media types (e.g., wmv, flv, fla, mpg, etc.) 17. the IPTV system should also be addressable from Windows, Apple and Google telephone platforms including widgets.
