JAVA DEVELOPER (CORE JAVA, JBOSS, SQL SERVER, VBA) My client, a financial services firm in central London, is urgently seeking a Java Developer (Core Java, JBOSS, SQL Server) with solid commercial experience of VBA within Excel or MS Access. To be considered for this position you MUST be able to read and understand VBA sufficiently to convert it to Java. You must also have excellent SQL Server database experience - storing, validating and cleansing data. PROJECTS / RESPONSIBILITIES: *Migrate existing MS Access database into SQL Server *Rewrite existing VBA based data gathering processes in Java *Replace Excel and MS Access based analysis with Qlikview reports *Build a system using Java to gather data from researchers travelling globally and apply analytics to the data. *Gather data from external sources via web scraping, FTP and email *Store data into SQL Server database, validate and clean data *Create and maintain reports to visualise data as per requirements of the research team and traders *Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets used to analyse data TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: *Core Java *JBOSS *VBA *MS SQL *Excel *MS Access *Qlikview (preferable) The contract length is 6 months with potential for extension.
