Strategic Planning Analyst
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to join a large, expanding organisation on a one year contract, where they will play a key role by providing analysis and support for the overall business performance Job Purpose The post holder will provide support to the Head of Strategic Analysis in providing high quality analytical support and insight for the business. This will involve supporting the modelling and forecasting of traffic volumes, and to help improve the business’ understanding of the link between traffic and macroeconomic drivers. Will also be involved in helping develop an improved tariff mechanism based on the principles of UK infrastructure regulation. In addition, the post holder will help carry out analysis of new business opportunities to determine project viability, which will require working across the business. Nature and Scope of Post To aid the Head of Strategic Analysis in producing and being responsible for forecast models for revenue and other areas which provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting across the organisation. To monitor macroeconomic and social trend data and drivers, plus other business intelligence to produce reports for distribution to the CEO and business managers across the organisation. To help develop and test bespoke quantitative models for use across the business, which will aid understanding and help inform business decision making. To assist with the development of a framework for tariff setting in the ferry business, based on the principles of infrastructure regulation. To help better inform the drivers of the tariff in other areas of the business. To apply best practice ideas from academic study to the business, and help inform improvements to the strategic analysis department and the wider business. To manage and provide analysis on any special projects as required. Work cross functionally to develop the application of detailed analysis across the business. This will involve working with subject specialists throughout the organisation to champion the use of analysis to improve all business decision making. Generic Duties Any other duties assigned by the manager or supervisor from time to time. Such duties will be reasonable in relation to the jobholder’s skills, abilities and status.
