Electronics Design Engineer
A Superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to work for a leading Automotive Tier 1. Successful candidates will have a mix of Analogue and Digital Design, Power Electronics and ideally Engine Control development. Electronic Design Engineer SCOPE: The position involves the optimal electronic hardware development & design for Engine Controller Modules used in the automotive industry. Low frequency, analogue & digital, low & high power design techniques are to be used for products manufactured in a dynamic medium to high volume environment (100k to 1 Million per design per annum). MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design & development of cost effective / high quality / easily manufacturable electronic circuit board assemblies to implement customer requested functions. - Aid CAD designers to layout circuits ensuring correct functionality & minimum RFI/EMC issues. - Jointly develop the optimised technical solution with the software development engineers for the implementation of microprocessor-controlled (32-bit) Engine Controller Modules. - Ensure that circuit designs are compatible with current manufacturing processes & maximise / continuously improve manufacturability. - Support supplier development activities with the purchase & product assurance departments. - Support current product manufacturing in the areas of problem (design & process) resolution. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS; - Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent (E) - Thorough knowledge of design principles and manufacturing requirements for large scale production of electronic modules (E) - Design of analogue circuits (E) - Design of digital circuits including 32 bit microprocessors and peripheral ics (E) - Design of circuits for EMC purposes (E) - S/W skills for use of 8 bit microprocessors in both products and test equipment (P) - High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
