Programmer/Analyst
The Client is seeking a programmer analyst to assist with the agency Unisys to Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 application conversion. The work will be to take requirements defined by the application development and business team and write code to replace the applications that currently reside on the Unisys mainframe and a VB applications currently running on a desktop. Included tasks are data migration, user acceptance testing and parallel processing to go live stage. Programmer Analyst Job Description: Converts data from project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to create or modify computer programs for applications currently being re-written in ASP .Net, MVC 3.0. Prepares, or receives from systems analyst detailed workflow documents to illustrate sequence of steps that program must follow and to describe input, output, and logical operations involved. Confers with supervisor and representatives of departments concerned with program to resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls. Converts detailed logical flow chart to C#, MVC 3.0 and ASP .Net language. Candidate uses Microsoft Team Foundation Server to manage user requirements, project time estimates and communication with the application development team. Corrects program errors, using methods such as modifying program or altering sequence of program steps. Writes instructions to guide operating personnel during production runs. Analyzes, reviews, and rewrites programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt program to new requirements. Compiles and writes documentation of program development and subsequent revisions. May assist computer operator to resolve problems in running computer programs. The following are skills sets needed and desired for this position: Must haves: Microsoft T-SQL C# jQuery .Net 4.0 ASP.Net MVC 3.0 SQL 2008 R2 experience Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Nice to have: SSRS - some exposure MS SQL Stored procedures TFS 2010 Agile Scrum SDLC Programmer capabilities with 8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performs a variety of complicated tasks, may lead and direct the work of others, may report directly to a project lead or manager, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
