SQL Server DBA
The Office of Water Programs (OWP) is a California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) program center that operates under University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) and the Department of Civil Engineering. OWP trains thousands of water and wastewater treatment operators throughout the United States and Canada each year. Our training manuals have been sold in 98 countries worldwide. OWP research engineers conduct extensive stormwater research to aid in the development of statewide policy recommendations. OWP is seeking the support of a SQL Server database administrator (DBA) to assist in technical operations. This is a contract position that reports to the IT Manager. OWP currently has two database servers hosted at the campus data center. Both servers run Windows Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2008. One server is for development, the other is for production. - Copy the production data to the development server 3 times a year. This should occur on or around January 15, May 15, and September 15 - Provide on-call support for major application upgrades. This is expected to occur at most once a year and will be accompanied with at least one month’s notice - Verify optimal SQL server configuration twice a year - Provide and configure application accounts on a timely basis - Provide emergency support
