Design - Help Friendship Academy of the Arts with a new logo
Name to incorporate in the logo Friendship Academy of the Arts Slogan to incorporate in the logo Where friendship and academic excellence meet. Description of the organization and its target audience Friendship Academy of the Arts is a small, public charter school serving kindergarten through sixth grades. The school specializes in using arts integration to teach the core subjects of math, science, and language arts (reading and writing). In other words, it uses the interactive and imaginative TECHNIQUES of fine arts, theater, spoken word, poetry and storytelling to engage students in learning core subjects. However, the school DOES NOT teach dance, music, or fine arts skills at this time. The goal of the school is to provide all students with high expectations so they will excel in academics while also learning good manners so they can become respectful, productive citizens who are creative thinkers. Target Audience: Parents of kindergarten through sixth grade students living in and around Minneapolis, Minnesota. While Friendship Academy of the Arts’ student body is mostly composed of African American students, it is important that the logo be welcoming of one and all and is not solely directed to African American students. For example, many new African immigrants need to feel like the school is a safe, welcoming atmosphere. We also DO NOT WANT to alienate students of other races and cultures, e.g., Hispanic, white, Native American, etc. So it is important that the logo is NOT Afro-centric.
