MASTER PROJECT SCHEDULER (MICROSOFT PROJECT 2007 OR HIGHER)
We have the following 1 year contract with our direct client in Raleigh, NC. We are looking for a Schedule Manager/Master Project Scheduler with the below skills. We need this candidate to be a current PMP holder. Description: The NC Department of Revenue (DOR) is seeking to fill a short term (approx. 12 month) assignment for a Schedule Manager/Master Project Scheduler to assist with developing and managing integrated program and project schedules for the agency's critical strategic initiatives. The Master Project Scheduler has the following primary responsibilities: * Develop and maintain integrated master and supporting schedules including existing schedules for projects that are currently underway. * Develop and publish monthly and weekly project performance dashboards. * Institute program and project scheduling standards, including implementing recommendations made by third-party project scheduling experts. * Apply resource management processes developed by/for the agency. * Recommend improvements to scheduling processes and tool configurations, in accordance with the agency's maturity and capability. * Provide fundamental to advanced schedule management training to the agency's project management staff. * Administering the MSPS environment. In performing these responsibilities, the Master Project Scheduler is expected to understand and incorporate best practices in the 9 knowledge areas of project management, and adhere to the project standards and processes established by the EPMO. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: A. Basic requirements: 1. Demonstrated expert-level proficiency in MS Project and MSPS 2007 or higher. 2. Demonstrated expertise in administering the MSPS environment. 3. Prior experience using MS Project Server 2007 or higher for enterprise resource management. 4. Very strong project controls background. 5. Prior experience in directly managing systems development projects. 6. Very strong planning and elicitation skills and ability to work with business and technical managers and resources. 7. Skills in facilitation, problem solving, and conflict management. 8. Detail oriented and capable of producing required project artifacts. 9. Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate across functional areas. 10. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. PMI Project Management Professional certification (PMP) B. Preferences * PMI-Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certification is desirable. * Very good understanding of project life cycles, software application and technical development and deployment life cycles. * Experience in providing training in schedule management. * SharePoint experience.
