Escalate complex problems. Monitor the resolution status. Provide status in documentation and reports. Able to reboot servers. Support data center/computer operations/HW for an IBM ZOS/CICS/DB2 mainframe & related peripherals. Responsible for other monitoring insurance system platforms - Mid-Range (Linux & Windows Server) and multiple database environments (Oracle, SQL). Perform and monitor daily/overnight mainframe insurance system batch cycle processing, contact and collaborate with system/application programmers as needed to resolve batch and on-line system issues - perform system/console monitoring, ensure integrity of system backups, execute system change control processes, coordinate HW maintenance and repair, monitor & control physical data center HW. Daily support (3 shifts) of MAIG data center and mainframe operations, fully transitioned for Mid-Atlantic club IT group. Skills: Mainframe (IBM ZOS) operator and system administration skills, beta 42 scheduling (or similar), CICS, DB2, TSO, IBM JCL, IBM utilities, IBM 3490, 3590 & 3592 tape system operations, Windows PC and MS Office tools, and procedure documentation skills, excellent communications and cognitive skills. Mid-range system monitoring capabilities – Linux, Windows server, SQL, Oracle 5-10 years experience in an operator role in an IBM mainframe data center and mid-range system environment.
